Join us on October 21st from 7:00-9:00pm for a Maker Monday hosted by Ventrac. Denver Steiner (Director of Information Services) will be giving us a tour of the Ventrac manufacturing facility where you will see the process of transforming sheet metal into tractors & attachments shipped around the world. Included in the tour will be a peek at the custom software used to drive the operation.
Bring the kids!!! The 2nd part of the presentation will be focused on STEM tools aimed at exposing kids ages 6 to 12 to programming and electronic concepts. Denver runs a weekly “Robot Club” that meets in the winter for employee kids and will demo some of the materials he uses from Lego and other platforms such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
Training the next generation with these skills is crucial to preparing them for an ever-increasing world of automation. Please bring along any tools or resources you would be willing to share with the group that you have found to be effective at introducing kids to the Maker movement.
